About

Description
The Salvation Army is an international movement located in over 100 countries around the world. We have been serving the communities in Greater Milwaukee for over 100 years. Today we have a variety of programs to meet the needs of the people in the communities we serve. Last year we served over 300,000 meals to more than 40,000 people. We provided shelter for 1,000 individuals, helped them find jobs and taught them how to take control of their lives. In total, we served 723,060 people and count our volunteers at 3,603. $$The Adult Rehabilitation Center is a residential program that provides group therapy, spiritual guidance, skilled counseling and referral services for men recovering from alcohol and drug abuse. $$Counseling and educational programs are provided by in-house counselors and residents participate in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous classes. Handling the processing of donated materials such as furniture, appliances or clothing allows the residents to learn new job skills and develop work habits that are necessary as they prepare to re-enter the job market. Adequate housing, meals and medical care are provided while enrolled at the Center. $$To schedule a pick-up of new or lightly used home goods, clothing and other items, please contact The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center at 414-276-4316. $$The Emergency Lodge (here for 20+ years) is an expression of one the Salvation Army's most traditional ministries, demonstrating the love of God by serving people in need without discrimination. The Emergency Lodge has many services, including: clinic services for medical and psychiatric needs; a Children's Center, offering educational and recreational programs for children at the Lodge; respite care; job development and placement services; homeless family support programs; community case management programs, a transitional housing program and other programs for families transitioning out of the shelter. At the Lodge are single residents and families. There are 100 beds; the average stay is 30-60 days. Contact with the whole family is possible at this site.
