Sojourner Family Peace Center

A shelter for battered women and their children, it is one of two battered women's shelters in Milwaukee. Sojourner provides temporary shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence. It provides a safe atmosphere for the women and their children. They may have to stay for up to a month, or a little longer in some cases. When the families are staying at the shelter, women are given responsibilities and must attend house meetings and group support meetings. During certain periods of the day childcare is arranged for the children.
