Adult Learning Center

About

Since it was established in 1979, The Adult Learning Center has provided basic educational opportunities to economically and educationally disadvantaged individuals ranging in age from 18 to 65 years old in the Milwaukee community. The primary objective of the program is to help the more than 130 adults enrolled in the program improve the quality of their lives and influence their communities in positive ways. In addition to regular academic work, students of The Adult Learning Center have the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs including programs on computer literacy, financial literacy, life skills, employability and job readiness skills, health education, and preparation for Driver Education written exams. The Adult Learning Center is a very well organized agency with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. A number of activities throughout the school year enrich student experience and create a community feeling at the Center, including a Thanksgiving and Christmas party, annual book sale fund-raiser, and Black History Month program.
