About

The Marquette Tutoring Hub is a program created to support Milwaukee's youth and the difficulties presented in learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Volunteers in the MU Tutoring Hub will be matched with teachers at local schools and afterschool programs to serve as tutors, reading buddies, or classroom assistants.

The MU Tutoring Hub is a collaboration between the Center for Community Service, the Service Learning Program, Burke Scholarship Program, and educational community partners.

Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 2 hours per week beginning the week of September 21st, and serving through the end of the semester.  A follow-up survey will be sent shortly to assist with match volunteers to placement times within schools and it is asked you maintain a consistent weekly schedule throughout the term of service.

Training and orientation will be provided through Marquette University and the partnering organization the week prior to the start of the program. Both of which are mandatory.   Additionally, volunteers will be given access to the classroom management platform (Google Classroom, Zoom, Seesaw, etc.)   Volunteers will also be required to complete bi-weekly check-ins with Marquette program staff as well as monthly reflections.
