About

Non-partisan student walking buddies are available to escort students interested in in-person absentee voting at the Ziedler Municipal Building. Walking buddies will escort groups of five or less students either on foot to the voting location and back. Estimated travel time from campus one-way is 26 minutes.

  • Student participants must have a green COVID-19 Screen check
  • Masks must always be worn except when asked by a worker to temporarily remove it to confirm identity for voter registration and voting purposes
  • Social distancing will be maintained on the walk and at the facility

Sign-ups for a walking buddy are available during daylight hours only. Students will meet and depart campus from the east entrance of Alumni Memorial Union. Students are advised to plan to spend 2-3 hours for the trip (more on Saturday).

If none of the provided times work for your schedule, please contact kelly.walker@marquette.edu to discuss alternative times.

NOTE: Students may need to go to AMU’s Union Station in advance to acquire their MU Voter ID Card (Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.) and use CheckMarq to print out a Fee Statement Receipt prior to departure.
